2-week Restart Diet.  Break that Weight Plateau!

Eating is such an individual experience. Some of us eat when we're upset. Others eat when we're bored. Yet others eat because we love food, or because we're addicted to something. Whatever the reason, it's a recognized fact that as a nation, we're overweight and getting more so.

The diet industry is enjoying an unprecedented boon. The range of products which claim to guarantee weight loss is staggering. It's a billion dollar industry which feeds on our vanity and our desire to look our best.

The sad fact is that we try one product or another, then one diet and another, all the while losing a little weight and likely gaining it all back again. This kind of weight loss is more dangerous because the body gets used to the yo-yo effect. If you lose a little weight, the body expects to gain it back and resists further weight loss - the dreaded PLATEAU!

Fortunately, there's an excellent tool for just such an occasion. I found it in the book "The Underburner's Diet" by Barbara Edelstein. This tool is called the "Restart Diet". It seems to kick-start your metabolism and at the same time, gets you started on better eating habits. At the end of the two weeks, if you're serious about losing weight, you'll have lost enough to give you encouragement and follow through with a healthy low calorie,  low fat diet, or whatever works for you.


RESTART DIET

Day 1: Nothing but liquids: water, diet jello, consommé, decaf coffee, tea, diet soda, bouillon, broth, clam juice, tomato aspic, tomato juice, V8 juice, low fat milk

Day 2: ADD: 9 oz. Of lean meat or fowl or 12 oz. Of fish (divided into 2 meals)

Day 3: ADD: 2 large salads ( with oil-free dressing (and raw vegetables)

Day 4: ADD: Breakfast: 1 orange, 1 egg or egg white (boiled), 1 rye cracker

Day 5: ADD: 2 cups of white or green steamed veggies

Day 6 ADD: 2 melba toast

Day 7 ADD: 2 more fruit

STAY AT THIS LEVEL FOR 1 week

 

Go back to your Desired Weight Loss Program.

I've seen some excellent results from this. It really does blast through the weight-loss plateau and gets you back on track. Good luck and good health!.
